Malawi – the warm heart of Africa
Malawi in South East Africa is known as the “warm heart of Africa” because of the friendliness of the people, but it is currently one of the poorest countries in the World. Large scale deaths by HIV/AIDS have left over 2 million orphans and still today HIV/AIDS accounts for over 25% of annual deaths in the country. Being a poor country means that Malawi is ill-equipped to deal with other problems like the displacement of thousands through flooding caused by Climate Change, leading to other threats like Cholera.
The founder of Great Minds Bright Futures, Dave Armstrong has been visiting Malawi since 2006. His first trip was “life changing” and he has dedicated thousands of hours, thousands of pounds to help the plight of Malawi orphans. Great Minds Bright Futures wants to give Malawi children a future through feeding programmes, learning and activities. Please support our work.
